A record while you talk · not a recap tomorrow

Everyone remembers the meeting
differently. Now there's a record.

ReelMeeting listens live and keeps the decisions, commitments and open questions on screen as they happen — every line quoting the sentence it came from. When something genuinely doesn't hold up, it says so in a section of its own, with the words that prompted it.

  • decision

    Retention work moves to Q4.

“so we can move the retention work to Q4” Priya · 41:02
  • commitment

Sam to confirm the churn figure before Friday.

“I'll pull the real number before Friday” Sam · 41:15
  • open question

Who owns the retention experiment if it slips again?

“and if it slips again, then what?” Dele · 39:48

contradiction sev 4

“Churn is basically flat” contradicts the 06:12 statement that churn rose 2.1 points month-over-month. One of these numbers is carrying the Q4 decision.

“Churn is basically flat this quarter” Sam · 40:51
The overlay during a meeting. Only you can see it; nothing is spoken aloud.

Always something true to show.
Never something it can't back up.

Two separate dials. The record is extractive — it only ever repeats what was said, so it can stay on screen for the whole meeting without ever costing you trust. Critique is earned — it lives in its own section and cannot appear at all without a verbatim span from the conversation.

The meeting record

What the room actually settled

Populated continuously through the call. Every card quotes the meeting and carries a timestamp, so there is nothing to take on faith.

  • Decisions

What the room actually settled, with the sentence that settled it.

  • Commitments

Who took what on — named, with the words they used to take it on.

  • Open questions

Asked, not answered. Still sitting there when the call ends.

  • Callbacks

What a previous meeting decided, surfaced when it becomes relevant again.

Critique

The things everyone notices two days later

Separate from the record, and held to a harder standard: a finding reaches the screen only with the sentence that caused it. At most three at a time, ranked by severity.

  • Contradiction

“Churn is flat” — half an hour after churn was up 2.1 points.

  • Contradicts a past meeting

This week’s plan quietly reverses what was decided three weeks ago.

  • Gap

The question that was asked, deflected, and never came back.

  • All talk, no plan

Twenty minutes of agreement with no owner, no date, no next step.

  • Unsupported claim

A number that decides the roadmap, sourced from nowhere.

  • Likely wrong

A stated fact that does not survive contact with the record.

  • Nuance

True as far as it goes, and what it leaves out changes the decision.

  • Oversight

The dependency nobody in the room has mentioned yet.

  • Out of scope

A tangent quietly eating the half hour you booked for something else.

Across meetings

It remembers what last time decided

  • A brief before you start

What the last meeting on this thread decided, who owed what, and which questions were left open.

  • Accountability digests

Commitments tracked across meetings — kept, slipped, or quietly dropped.

  • Contradicts a past meeting

When this week's plan reverses something already settled, that is a finding of its own.

  • A summary in your inbox

Markdown, after the call — the record, the findings, and what to follow up.

Privacy

Built like it's listening to your meetings — because it is

  • You start it. Explicitly.

Nothing is captured until you press Start, and the consent rules of your jurisdiction are yours to honour — the app requires you to acknowledge that before the first run.

  • Raw audio is never stored

Audio is processed in the moment for transcription and critique. After the meeting ends, the audio is gone — transcripts and findings remain yours.

  • Encrypted at rest

Your local meeting history lives in an encrypted database on your machine, keyed through your OS keychain.

  • Local Mode — preview

On-device processing behind a hard network boundary is in preview, not finished. Until it ships properly, treat ReelMeeting as a cloud-processing tool.

macOS 13+ is the version to use today. A Windows installer exists and now carries the audio engine, but nobody has run it on real Windows hardware yet — so it's untested rather than supported, and we won't claim either way until someone has.
